Southern University Laboratory School Class of 1973: Meeting Picnic on June 11

Help my brain, if you were present because some of you all know that I had three visitors under 12 years old over here this last week. Love 'em to death but they will make you lose your first middle and last name! LOL! 👶👶

Current Business (activities for the remainder of 2022)

Southern Lab Homecoming - October 7, 2022 -- Russell: This year invite classes of 1972 and 1974 to join us. Russell will contact CO'74 (Audree Gregs). Kathy will contact CO'72 (Vallory Simms Hills). Beasely suggested hiring a cook or catering and having attendees pay for food rather 1 or 2 members cooking. Kathy-set up Zoom call to meet for planning/finalizing details.
Next Class Function - Annual Christmas Gathering December 26, 2022 at Ruffino's. Please be present at 5:45 p.m. as over 30 people = private room, 1 check, 1 menu. RSVP needed Dec. 1. Less than 30 people = , open but 'private-ish' area in restaurant. Separate checks open but separate table for semi-private area.

New Business - Setting the stage for 2023

Zoom Meeting August 27; time and place TBA

SULS Gala is Dec. 23 - table of 10 = $1,070.00 or $100/person. Individuals can partticipate on their own. No plans to attend/purchase as a class because of Christmas dinner. (May be a hardship for some to try to attend both during holiday season).

Rules/Dues and Suggestions for 2023. Reinteration: Dues are $20/month or $240 annually, $160/quarter or $780 for 2 years leading up to 50th year reunion. Those who are just starting can catch up. (Check with Anthony Beasley).
Reunion and Form Committees - It's been a very democractic process so anyone--even those not living in BR area can have input and be on committee. Linda volunteered to make sure there is a presentable reunion plan to report to class.
Recommendations for 2023 Activities - Anyone living anywhere can make recommendations. The idea is that as we get older, we want to get together socially as well and to plan for #50 with fun and work.

Financial (Beasley) - See photo. Kathy's to remind everyone on 'Remind Ap' to pay dues each month. Make effort to reach all classmates. May need a different schedule for those just starting their payments. [Somebody remind Kathy to remind everybody, LOL!]

Remember, everyone has had an opportunity to submit their ideas, comment, attend in person or via Zoom. The process has been very democratic..and I personally have tried not to leave anyone out of the loop as well as everyone else who has participated this year. Make sure someone has your contact information. Most of all, no one will be sorry--but just the opposite--if each of us makes it a practice to lift each other up at every opportunity. That's my prayer, in Jesus' name! Amen!
