A Message from Tanya Moye Freeman

I am extremely GRATEFUL for your many acts of KINDNESS as we celebrate the life and transition of my dad, Allen J. Moye’.

Your text messages, plants, cards, gifts, books and calls have touched my heart and reminded me of my Precious and Unique Southern University Laboratory School family. Most of all... That Class of 1973 ROCKS!!!

When our parents came to Southern University, they were presented with a vision by Dr. Clark, of a place where people of color could be college educated and change their lives and the lives of future generations. Everyone had an important role to carry out the vision. We were a part of that vision... and I am so GRATEFUL .

It has been 47 years ago since our high school graduation .... however, those BONDS will never be broken. We were church members, classmates, Girl Scouts, neighbors, homeroom members, relatives and friends.

As a part of the bonding of the SU Laboratory School family... we attended proms, plays, banquets, Christmas programs, numerous birthday parties through the years, watched high school championship games, shared dinners in our homes, enjoyed funny experiences, knew each other's cousins and family members, created & held the first ring ceremony at the Southern University Laboratory School, became Thespians, encouraged each other to accomplish our hopes and dreams, rode our bikes together, taught each other how to dance, shared the heart break of our classmates transitioning from this life to the next, nurtured each other through traumas, and just showed up at funerals of family members who were your loved ones that we grew to know and love.

We have become kind, loving, and compassionate toward each other because we are brothers and sisters...bound by LOVE, ACCEPTANCE, PRAYER and LAUGHTER .

Thank you so much for personally being who you are to me ... supportive through the years... NOW ... and forever.

May God 's Supernatural Uncommon FAVOR fill your lives and that of your offspring and family members ... NOW ... and for years to come . ❤️❤️❤️
